I'm such a sucker for doing 'fan art' - although I prefer doing it when there's a purpose behind it (like when I did all the Transformers stuff for War Journal). Anyhow, here's a hour or so's thru work on a mock DS9 cover, featuring the bearded captain himself!

So after hacking at a photocopy yesterday lunch with a biro, I did an hour or two last night correcting the pose/posture and proportions and beginning to do the pencil finishes. I'm going to leave the background to paint, and will run some inkwashes over it before scanning as I really like that style of render. Got the interesting/daunting bits ( Read more... )

I picked up a pencil again last night for the first time since the con, as I've got a lull in inking for the mo (penciller is making loads of amends so I'm on hold til the end of the week).
